To finish off the Tudor topic, the grade 5 and 6 class investigated family crests. Students used the internet to find out about their own family crest and shared this with the class. Many of the students were interested about their family history and were enthusiastic in sharing this in class discussions. Afterwards, students created their own crest, where they had the opportunity to include symbols that represented them, in addition to their family. The final result was a diverse array of crests, where students also gave a mini presentation to the class about why they chose those symbols.
